Good Morning All ..I have a Rudd UPNE-036JAZ Heatpump 3 ton that I been working on..the unit keeps tripping on low pressure cut out..checked pressures running very low 35/155..I know you all are going to say a leak...there is no leak..the RV wasnt energized in cooling so I switched the setting in the stat and it did energize but pressures went to what you would expect from heat mode so I switched back. No matter how much gas you add the pressure never seems to raise?????

You could have a RV hanging up.

Compressor valves are shot. Replace compressor or unit.

How could the unit trip on low pressure if the compressor valves are shot? I suppose this could be true if the system was empty and has bad valves but; if it was empty you wouldn't be able to verify the bad valves theory.

I'm not sure what you're saying about the revertsing valve but get it running in a/c mode. Measure the following and post results. suction pressure head pressure suction line temp liquid line temp outdoor ambient temp TXV or orifice?
