I'm not new to wiring thermostats, but while changing the one at my house I noticed that W2 and Y2 were jumped together and had an incoming line that I traced back to the C terminal on the board. My system is one of those single package heat pump Frigidaire systems. I replaced my t-stat with a Control4 automation t-stat. I hooked it up exactly the way I unhooked being sure not to short anything and as soon as I powered it back up I smelled a burning smell for literally 3 seconds and from then on the system wouldn't put out anything but warm air. heat seems to be working properly fan, blower, t-stat are functional. is it possible to damage part of the cooling system so easily while changing the thermostat? I really want to know if that W2 and Y2 jumper could've caused it. Even the guy that wanted to charge me $100 to come look at it said that doesn't sound right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
