This model (3 heat/ 2 cool programmable) makes a very loud clicking noise when turning on and off our Lennox air handler. I guess the relay is in the thermostat unit itself. Any ideas on how to muffle it or would another brand or model be quieter. We don't even use the programmable function. Would gladly downgrade if it meant peace and quiet.Thanks.

That is normal in almost all digital thermostats, although some are louder than others. The only QUIET way is try and find a mercury bulb thermostat to work with your system.
