Hello,
About 6 months ago (February) we were awaken by a very strong burning plastic smell and no air from the vents. HVAC tech came out and had to replace the blower motor. Everything was working fine until last week, when the burning smell started coming back, but this time when the A/C was running. It doesn't happen every time the a/c unit kicks on, but a few times a day the burning smell will come back when unit kicks on. Had same tech come back out, he said he checked the motor and all was fine. Said he couldn't find anything wrong? Any Ideas? Filters are fine, he said motor is fine, unit is under the house, it does sweat alot, refilled with freon month and half ago because cools were freezing. Any help would be appreciated.

Possibly an electric heat strip engaged with no fan.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
