I am replacing an old thermostat in which wire codes are (GREEN connected to G) ( BLACK connected to C) (White connected to W2) (RED connected to R) (ORANGE connected to O) and (YELLOW connected to Y also has a jumper to W2) I have a heat pump and an electric furance.
O and B are separated on my old thermostat, where (ORANGE connected to O) and B is not connected. E is also not connected.
Honeywell's rth8500 has O/B connected together. Honeywell sates to connect the B wire to C terminal. Unfortunatly B is not connected on my old themostat only (ORANGE connected to O). Where does C go. I am reading istallation guide pages 10 - 12.
To make a long story short some letters seem to match but others do not. How to I wire my Honeywell Thermostat so it works with the heat pump and the electic furance.
Thanks. Lionel Lynch

Aux & E = white (use jumper wire) Rc & R = red (use provided jumper) O/B = orange Y = yellow G = green C = black
You must also configure the stat to match your system. option 170 = 7 190 = 0 240 = 9
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
