The house I bought last year has a Trane xe1000. I had to replace the condenser fan motor last Aug. This Aug the condenser fan motor again needs to be replaced. The house was built in 2003 so the unit can only be 5 years old, what’s the typical warranty life for a Trane xe1000? Is it typical for a replacement motor to only last one year? Should I get a second opinion before I let this guy work on my unit tomorrow?

It is unusual for a condenser fan motor to go bad after one season, but not unheard of. Are you certain the replacement motor was the right HP and speed? If not that would certainly explain the early failure. You can check the criteria for the motor against the nomenclature plate on the outdoor unit. If it doesn't match I would question the contactor you hired.
