I've got a goodman heat pump that makes a loud BANG noise when the unit starts. The HVAC person says that Goodman doesn't recognize it as a warranty issue, but he's replaced 2 compressors at this point. After the compressor is replaced, the noise is not as loud, but continues to get louder with each passing week. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on what I should do next?

Thanks!

It would be a packaged heat pump. (13 SEER - GPH13H) So everything is outside on the ground. It wasn't my choice of units as I bought the house (brand new - already finished.) It's about 2 years old, so it's still under warranty.

Where is the indoor unit (fancoil)in relation to the outdoor unit (heatpump). Is the outdoor unit higher than the indoor unit such as basement, roof, etc. Is there a long line set? Need more info.

Goodman says it all......Not my first choice of euipment or anyone else on here that knows anything.

Good Luck
