I just installed a 80000 BTUH Intertherm M3RL Furnace today and when the furnace burners start, everything is fine, venting properly, etc. Then once the blower is signaled the blower blows the flame out. What the %^@$#%@#%$!!!! Can this be something simple, or should i just admit it to myself that it is probably a faulty furnace and check into the warranty situation. I think number 2 is my answer. Please help if you have any suggestions. And yes when the blower is on it blows like crazy through the vents and ductwork so no blockage or anything. Thanks, and one more thing if this furnace is f-ed then it will be the last intertherm i ever installed. I am a Lennox dealer but they dont have mobile home furnaces, yay

Greetings from Wpg, eh. I'm not that familiar with gas in trailers but from what I've read here last Winter, is it possible that the vent kit (is it a combo intake/exhaust kit) passes thru the fan compartment and is not sealed properly and air is sneaking in? Some propane guys mentioned that about poor combustion? I know the old oil units had that setup. Maybe they have tech support 1-800#. I sell Lennox and they are GREAT for that. Not that you need it. I do lots of electrics in trailers. Don't know if the Nortron units are rated for mobile home use but I sell them in houses. Not at all impressed with Miller/Nordyne stuff. Looks like Goodman with a different name. Good Luck

yes it is a combo intake/exhaust kit and it does pass through the blower compartment, but i checked for any loose connections or otherwise and to no avail. i just dont understand without there being holes in the heat exchanger how the blower fan (not exhaust blower) can blow out flame. thanks for input though

Does it have a gasket or require it to be sealed with red RTV silicone? I like Nortron which is owned by Broan who is actually owned by Nordyne/Miller. Go figure.

Well, shouldnt that all be sealed when it comes in the box. are you saying i will probably have to dismantle inducer blower assemble and try to do some sealing myself??

I meant where the vent kit attaches to the furnace, if you had to install it. Maybe missing a gasket? Have not seen your unit, just guessing.

Are you sure that the blower is "blowing" the flames out? Are there any LED fault codes?

What CFM is the circ blower? Are the ducts sized right? When you say blows like crazy, do you mean high velocity? If you have real high velocity, could be a number of things, including over pressure in the plenum. 80,000 BTU in a trailer? Lower the blower speed, see if it stays lit. It will probably trip the high limit after 5 minutes.
