I have a Lennox HSXA12-048-230-1 condensor that was causing the lights to dim approximately every 2 minutes when operating. Now the breaker is tripped. I checked the capacitor and I'm getting good readings on the H and F to C. If I reset the breaker, I get no fan or compressor operation. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Megger compressor winding. Your computer is tripping the breaker coz your winding is grounded.

Allow the compressor to be cool to the touch. Put an ammeter on run or common leg to the compressor. Turn on A/C, and see if the compressor is pulling LRA.

Yes, the compressor is pulling LRA. Though it's rated for 91amps, and the breaker trips at 30A... so, I can't get an exact reading. None of the terminals are shorted to ground, or at least I don't get a continuity tone when testing to ground. Would a kick or hard start kit help? Could the contactor be bad?
