Do you have a furnace or heat pump?
Usually if it was installed correctly at the unit it would be: red wire to rh terminal yellow wire to y terminal green wire to g terminal orange wire to o/b termial (for heat pumps) white wire to w1 termianl (for furnace) I'm assuming that the new t-stat is battery powered since you didn't list a C terminal. other two wires usually not used on residentual units, cut back and cap.
