I am replacing my old Weathertron with a Honeywell RTH7400. I thought I did everything correct, but when I hooked it up heat came on even though I had it programmed for cool. Here is the old wiring and how I hooked up the new wiring.
OLD WIRING: HOW I WIRED IT
R/R R/R
T/BROWN T/DIDNT USED
O/O OB/W=O
G/G G/G
Y/Y Y/Y
X2/BLACK W2/AUX=W
B/BLUE Y2/E=X2
W/WHITE L/ NOT USED
C/BLUE

Please help. I am burning up in Bama.

Thanx

Rc & R = red
O/B = orange
G = green
Y = yellow
Aux = white
E = black
C = blue

You must also configure this stat for heatpump operation.
set option 170 to 7
190 = 0
240 = 9

Houston 204

Have used this website for some help with heating problems. Just posted question about replacing a thermostat and received porno response from someone named video. Looked at some of the other responses and he/she is there again. You are a reply that helps, could you please help me with my replacement? I am looking at a honeywell pro vision 8000 for a elelctric heat pump/air conditioner with back up emergency heat. Will this work and what would the wiring be and the settings?
Thanks for your help, not too much fun getting spammed!

If you wired it as described in my first post, you have wired it correctly. Tape off the brown wire.

It will blow heat on demand for cooling unless you configure it as posted earlier..

houston i have a problem: im replacing my hpt 18-60 with a rth 7400 and i my heat will not run it comes on but then stops for the WAIT and then comes back on for about 1-2 minutes then goes to WAIT again. i have it set up as:
y=y
g=g
r=r
o=o/b
w2=aux
e=e
c=c with 0170= 7 0190=0 0270=9

my old tstat was:
y=y
g=g
r=r
o=o
w2=white
c=brown
e=blue now these 2 may be wrong cause my dad did not label them b4 he took the old tsat off so i hooked it back up this was to get the a/c on and it works so i then got the above info from honeywell tech. now i also have a black wire coming out that did not hook to anything on the old one so its not hooked up on the new on also. what can i do to get the heat to work winter is coming...thanks..
