I have an air condition problem. When I first turn on my air condition my vents are blowing at full blast then about 1 hour later there is no air blowing but vents feel chilly. If I turn off the Thermostat for 5 minutes and turn back on the air starts blowing hard for about another hour then it stops again. Again if I continue to turn off unit and turn back on the air pressure returns. Had a Air Conditioning contractor come out and he was 90% sure it was thermostat because he said FAN is spinning on air conditioning unit in backyard and furnance blower in garage is turning. He wanted to charge me $265 for new Thermostat, but I declined and installed new working one in 30 minutes. Same thing still occurs after installing new Thermostat. Any suggestions... Looks like I need to call another contracter out. **Note I did notice that my furnace in the garage was leaking water pretty heavy out of this return hole in the furnance, not the drainage hole in the furnace which goes to my drainage; this was another hole next to the drainage line. The contractor plugged the hole with some puddy, but I'm thinking that hole has been unplugged on the furnace since I bought the house and maybe it shouldn't be plugged. Maybe that water runoff is suppose to come out that unplugged hole if the main drainage line is clogged. Because where is all that water now going since he plugged that hole on the furnace unit.

Sounds like your evaporator may be freezing up. Could be low on charge or an airflow problem. Change your filter, if that don't resolve the problem call for service to be sure your coils are clean and have the charge checked.
If in doubt call a pro !

Is that a symptom of losing Air Pressure. Evaporator freezing up? When I first to check the unit about the furnace by the drainage coming from the AC, I notice it was ICE COLD and I though I saw some ICE somewhere. I've never had the unit serviced so by giving it a charge, COULD that improve the air pressure. Cold Air is coming out.

Low on charge and low air flow are the 2 most common causes for an evaporator to ice up. Never adjust a charge until air flow is where it should be. Things that restrict airflow are dirty filter, dirty evaporator coil and low fan speed. Fan speed would be unlikely if the unit has run ok up until recently. If the unit has never been serviced, I would lay odds on dirty filter and/or evaporator coil. Yearly maintenance is highly recommended. I would call for service and get it checked out before you do any serious damage to the unit. running it like it is, is not good for the compressor and other components.
If in doubt call a pro !
