A tech came to my house. he disconnected the small pipe at the metering device. Then he removed a divider inside the end of the pipe that leads to the 8feeder lines of the metering device. Is this divider used to stop fluid turbulance caused by the connector from entering the metering device? The divider is arrow shaped at one end, about 1/2 inch long, and has a very thin cross section.it is as wide as the inside of the pipe, and was tightly inserted. Will this cause problems with the coil?

He removed a screen that was probably plugged. he should have installed a new one or cleaned the old one which is what I usualy do and installed a liquid line drier right in front of it. you probably have some junk in the system from original install that is moving around in the pipes. the next time he comes and (he will) will be to clean or replace the metering device and or compressor. I would fix it. I've been there and done the same repair. filter drier is a good fix even without the screen if its right at the metering device, not if its out at the compressor.
