I have a New Yorker oil fired burner with a beckett head. it is 8 years old and has has alway been a quite and smooth running boiler. I have it cleaned and tuned each year. Lately I've noticed that oil the burner has a loud rumble when it runs and I think it's getting worse. Do you know what causes this to happen?

It could be several different things that can cause that, You'll want to get the servie company out to check it out, if you soot up your chamber then you'll be in for a bigger exspense. You might just have dirt in the nozzle, it might be an air mixture or draft problem.
