I recently did a remodel and have a new gas furnace installed, along with new ductwork (so completely new insulation, windows etc). But I am having a hard time keeping the second bedroom as warm (kids room). There is 1 vent in the room, but no return. Our main bedroom, which is 3 times as large, has two vents, and the air return. And this main bedroom is constantly a few degrees warmer. And I should mention, the thermostat is in this room.
My wife is concerned because the kids room (infant) is always colder.
I am wondering if I split another air return off into the kids room if that will help? We prefer to close his door at night, and I think the pressure buildup is causing less heat to enter the room.
Thanks for your response Don

It may help but you won't know until you try it. If possible I would get a baseboard heater installed instead and that way they get climate control and guaranteed results and no sore throats, ear aches etc etc. Sick kids are no fun.
