I have 2 heat-cooling zones and have installed 2 RTH7500 thermostats. The downstairs thermo works fine, both heating and cooling, but the upstairs doesn't function either way, no heating or cooling. Downstairs thermo wiring: C G Y W R W2 Upstairs wiring: R W Y
Both function 0170 are set to 7.
How do I get the second zone working?
Thanks

The upstairs stat probably had a green wire to the G terminal.
Neither stat should have function 170 set to multistage heat pump. Heat pumps will generally require an O or B terminal to control a reversing valve.
Do you have gas heat or electric heat?

The upstairs only had the 3 wires, R, W, Y. If I don't set the downstairs 0170 to 7, it doesn't work at all.
I have gas heat.

W is O/B when option 170 = 7. So the wire there should be for a reversing valve.
Set 170 to 1 upstairs and use coventional labels for your 3 wires.
Color codes vary, the colors used in this diagram are a common heatpump example.

I tried using the 0170 set to 1 upstairs and that still doesn't work.
I also realized on my original post I typed the main (downstairs) wiring incorrectly. It's actually C-C G-G Y-Y O-O/B R-Rc with a wire to R W - AUX 0170 - Set to 7
Upstairs R-Rc with wire to R W-W Y-Y 0170 set to 1
