As I recall the Carrier valve has a jumper wire. Didn't you get some literature with it?
Post the furnace product number. 58RAV115-16112 ?

Bryant valve has five terminals, with the jump being ground(neutral) between a redundant pilot and main. The pilot is pulled in and then held in when the pilot assembly switch switches to start the main. Could be wrong but if I could have gotten by with three wire I would have switched years and years ago, you have to have a pilot that stays in when you drop pilot voltage.

Their blower motors are 3 times the price of a universal too. I still prefer OEM parts.
