I Have a stupid question. I have a york heatpump. When i installed it, it had a leak from the factory. I fixed it, leak tested and pumped it down. I put freon on per super cool. It worked GREAT all summer long. Now in heat the condensor shuts off after 10 min. The gauges do call me a RETARD before it shuts off. Could be low on freon? What is the main cause and any other causes?

If the gauges are hitting the "retard" zone, then the system is probably overcharged. You should charge the unit according to the charging chart that is either on the panel somewhere or in the installation literature.
It's only a shock if your not expecting it!

Thanks, Thats what I thought I have reclaimed some but has not changed. I'll try somemore. Would undercharge do the same?

Like shock Therapy said, recover, evacuate, and weigh in correct charge per unit nameplate, and lineset length. Be sure filter is clean, and indoor blower is working. If pressure still rises, check for a restriction.
