I have a Carrier Furnance, Model 58RAV075-JC. The burner starts but shuts off after a couple of seconds. I change the ignitor last year. What is the problem with my unit? Need help please...

Clean the flame sensor with fine steel wool or emery paper. Thin rod which pokes in front of the left burner, has a single wire to it and a white porcelain holder.

Would that issue be just about the same for most Carrier furnaces.Mine is around twenty four yrs old. Had it checked out last year and it received good bill of health. After the service guy left it started to act up.When the thermostat call for heat, the burner comes on for about 30 seconds then goes off and almost immediately restarts. Stays on until cycle is complete. Does this almost every cycle.

have your hvac guy come back and set the fan/limit switch back to where it was before he adjusted it. It should be pointing to about 135 on and 90 off. He just needs to adjust it. Your gas pressure may have been adjusted down or something.
