I have an Aprilaire 760, and a Rheem Furnace. The furnace, at least, is connected to a Hunter 44260 thermostat. Whenever the blower motor starts, my electronic air filter comes on, but the humidifier does not. Actually, it's either on all time (regardless of furnace activity), or it's off. So, it appears that the humidifier control is not getting any signal from the furnace thermostat. The Hunter thermostat has 24V terinals, but I can't even figure out how to get the cover off so I can put a voltmeter on it.

most of the time an installer will hook the humidifier power to W & C at the furnace for a bypass type. You may also have a second transformer just for the humidifier. If you state what you have I may be able to help.

I do have what I stated. I'll try to clarify, though. It looks as though the humidifier control always has power. My thought is that it should only have power when the blower is operating. Right?

if your furnace transformer will support the current you hook up common to the water solenoid on the humidifier and white to the solenoid through the humidistat.

that way it is getting power with a call for heat.

I went downstairs to do the wiring suggested, but I ran into a snag right away. My humidity controller only has 2 wires that come/go from the unit. Both these wires are wire nut attached to the water solenoid, so it appears to signal the solenoid when to open and shut. All the wiring diagrams I have seen have 6 wires, and they're all automatic humidistats. Mine's manual. What do I do, given my situation?
