Hey everyone, hope you can help. I replaced my inducer motor about a year back because it was starting to squeal real bad. I had no trouble with the install but from day 1, every time the furnace cuts in there is a buzzing (more like a loud vibration) at the inducer motor. It didn't seem to bad at first, at least not nearly as loud as the squeal, but I'm just wondering if there is some trick to installing these that I didn't realize? The three mounting screws all have the rubber bushings and are tightened up nice and tight. Could the wheel be out of alignment? Any suggestions (other than replacing the whole unit again hopefully) would be appreciated. As far as I can tell, everything is working as it should, just louder than I'd like.

Bryant 80 series mid-efficiency. Purchased new in 2001.
Appreciate any information you guys can pass my way. Thanks.

~S

the inducer wheel may be bent or to far up the shaft.
Take the blower door off and turn the power off to the furnace.

rotate the external fan by hand and see if the noise is constant when you are turning it. Be careful not to break the fan. You need 3/16" from the housing to the back side of the wheel. about the thickness of the card board that the motor came shipped in. Make sure the three rubber gromets that hold the motor are not loose or broken.
