I attempted to replace an old mercury thermostat with a digital one for my Nordyne systems (elect, heat pump). I since learned frol LUX that the thermostat I bought will not work on a 2 stage system. Problem is - now the old thermostat does not work either. I can't get the system to come on for heat or air. I've checked the breaker switches. Any thoughts?

Low voltage fuse or transformer failure due to improper wiring of the new stat. (you probably wired C wrong)
Check inside of your air handler panel for a popped low voltage fuse. Usually 3 or 5 amp.
Some units have a low voltage breaker
Did you remember to write down the existing terminal = wire combination before replacing the stat?
A Honeywell RTH7400 or a RTH7600 will support 2 stage systems.
"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.
