Hi,
I have a two year old Trane XR90. The blower motor tries and quits at least 8-10 times without firing up. I have 3 flashing lights which reads as a pressure switch error. I do understand that the pressure swith is a normally open switch that will close after the ventor motor is in operation. I have used a multi meter which proves the pressure switch is always open and it never closes causing the furnace to continue normal operation. What is really wierd is that it does try 8-10 times then eventually does fires up. Do I need a new pressure switch? Please help I'm getting really frustrated.

Check your air inlet and flue pipes for obstructions - sometimes they will get bees nests, or leaves in them, and this will prevent the pressure switch from closing.
