I have a gas furnace plus central a/c (carrier) and I was trying to install a Ritetemp 8022 thermostat over the weekend. After installation, the guide told me to test 3 things, the a/c, the heat and the fan. Everything worked except the heat. It told me to turn the system to heat and the fan to auto, then turn up the temp to 90 degrees. The furnace would start running but the burner would not fire up, and the blower would not come on. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

By the way, I have 4 wires: R, W, Y, and G. The diagram told me to connect the R wire to the RH terminal, the W, Y, and G to the matching terminals. In addition, there's a jumper wire between the RC and RH terminal.

For a test Jump R to W if the furnace still dosent run it's not the thermostat.

The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.
