i bought a house few months back..the house was built in 97..have york stellar ac unit..last week it stopped cooling house..i replaced fan motor and capacitor on saturday..still it doesn't cool..previous owner had the fan motor running in opposite direction than that marked on fan blade..now the fan is in clockwire direction..also cleaned inside coil and has new filter..i let the ac run for about couple of hours yesterday..i was afraid if it might damage something since i did not feel any cold air at all..should i run the ac longer to find out if it cools after long time..
i do not have any knowledge on air conditioners..please help..do i need new compressor?? or may be check freon??

If the large line entering the home is not cold and the compressor is runing it may be the refrigerant.

If they added gas and never repaired the leak then yes.
