About a month ago, we began using our Lennox Air Conditioner. It worked for a while, then we began hearing a clicking noise in the attic. We replaced the thermostat, but the problem continued. Upon inspection, we realized it was the blower in the furnace that was turning off and clicking trying to restart. After about 30 seconds or so, it turns back on and blows cold air. It runs for a few minutes, then repeats the turning off and clicking noise. The air conditioner outside stays on the whole time. We had someone come out but since it wasn't doing it when they were here, they were no help. They thought it could be the control board. We have 2 furnaces, so we swapped control boards. It worked for 2 weeks and now started the problem again! Help! Thank you.

Mike

it seems that your fan motor is over heating
look for loose connection or bad capacitor
also look in the blowerwheel for something stock or hitting you wheel

Without seeing it hard to say but my guess would be something related to condensation on the electronics. Increasing air flow might help.

Regarding the tech that checked the unit but the problem was not happening at the time:
I have been in that situation many times and have found a fair solution to resolve such issues. I charge a one time diagnostic fee. No matter if I can do it in 10 minutes or 10 different visits.....all the same price - $60. This takes the pressure off both me and the customer. Intermittent electrical problems are a real pain for everyone.
