I have just had a new central air conditioning system installed in my home. It’s a Tappan 3 ton handler with a 12 seer compressor. My home is 1,450 sq. feet under air.

My problem is that even though the temp in the home is at 78 or 76 degrees it doesn’t feel comfortable, the air feel very heavy (high Humidity). Looking at the new air handler I see water standing in the condensation pan, about 1/2 inch all the time, even if I turn the system off for several hours, in never drains. Then looking at the ¾ inch suction line I see it is bent and kinked in half. Could this be the reason that it feels uncomfortable in the home?

I have lived in the home for over ten years, and never had this problem with the old system until it had to be replaced with this new system.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Vince

Also have them check the temperature drop and fan speed.

call the installer co.they are responsible for getting it to cool properly the suction line shouln't be kinked.
drain pans usually hold a little water but 1/2"I think is a little too much water make sure you have unit drianing toward the drain outlet also make sure that they have the main drain line connected to main drain line outlet at the drain pan
your house feels humid because the drain pan is holding too much water and if you have the fan running at all times (fan switch to "on")you are picking up the humidity from your drain pan and putting back into your house when copressor goes off.
hope this help.

vinces, your new system might not remove humidity as well as your old one. The price you pay for high seer is sometimes poor moisture removal. You will just have to get used to setting the stat at a lower temp.

High SEER sells equipment so the manufs take advantage of this and prey on the contractors and the customers that don't know any better.
