service man came and installed new circuit board in my carrier furnace ( model# 58gp175-ca, series 100, serial# 2088a00030, input 175,000) noticed the next day thay the cooling unit was running while t-stat was on heat cut the t-stat off unit was still running. service man came back out the next day and wasnt sure of what the problem was i requested refund and got it. my ? is why is the cooling unit running while t-stat is on heat and off. the service man also disconnected wires from the circuitboard so cooling wouldn't run ( a red and white wire) where should they go? pls help thanks
thanku

well....you have a brown insulated set of wires;the wires inside the insulation are 4 or more but if you have a single stage cool single stage heat you have a;Red wire goes to "R"terminal at the stat and circuit board this wire is power to t-stat,White wire goes to "W"terminal at the t-stat and circuit board this wire brings on the heat,Green goes to "G"terminal at the t-stat and circuit board this wire powers the blower relay in the cooling mode,Yellow goes to "Y"terminal at the t-stat and circuit board this wire brings cooling on and tells the control board is in the cooling mode to bring blower to cooling or high speed. now you have another set of wires brown insulated (usually 2 wire control wire)this one goes to the outdoor unit to the contactor, one goes to one side of contactor coil and the other on the common side of the contactor coil(other side of contactor coil)the other end of the 2 wire control wire goes to indoor unit, and one of the 2 wires connects to "Y" terminal at the circuit board and the other wire goes to "C"terminal at the circuit board. now i recommend to call someone that knows what is doing to do this job because there's no telling what the first man did to the control board when he installed it i will have to see the control board to be able to tell you how to hook it up.
