I have a 400 square foot Glass Sunroom attached to my house that has a Friedrich 33,000 BTU Window Unit for AC. It is 10 Years old and is not very effecient with a EER of 9.0. I Live in Texas and the unit does not adequately cool the Sunroom. I am thinking of replacing with Trane XL 1600 Packaged Heat pump with SEER of 15.05 and nominal Tonnage of 5.
Do you think I will notice an improvement in Cooling and cost savings on Power Consumption?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Your room will be cooler however the costs will be higher, before you were only removing 3 tons now it's 5.
Xenos.
The best way to escape a problem is to solve it.

Thanks for the response. Right now the 33000 unit does not cycle. It runs all day with the 90+ temps here in Texas. I was hoping to see the 60000 BTU unit at least cycle properly. Glass Rooms have an R-Value OF 0!!! We have installed cellular shades and they have had minimal impact on cooling demand.
