I have 2 xl000 units outside and 2 xl80 units in my house
I am trying to change the trane thermostats TAYSTAT241 over to a hunter programable model number 44760
I took the first thermostat off and this is the wiring i found
R=red wire
G1=green wire
Y1=yellow wire
W1=white wire
W2=#FFFAF0 wire
the hunter thermostat has these terminals on its controls and I need to know how to do this or if I even have the right thermostat

Y1
I assume and I know that is not a good thing to do because when you assume you make an ass out of u and me but here goes
R-R
G1-G
Y1-Y1
W1-???????? help me here
w2-w2

Look at your unit outside. Beside the XE1000 designation it will say either Air Conditioner or Heat pump. The wiring you are showing is typical of a single stage cool 2 stage heat stat (your original one) which is what that model of stat is.

Then that thermostat will not work properly. You need a single stage cool, 2 stage heat thermostat (non-heat pump).

Just from looking at the Hunter product line on their homepage, they do not make a 2 stage heat/ single cool stat that is non-heat pump. you will probably need to look more at Honeywell or White-Rodgers stats.
