old model is a Goodman HPTD18-60 and changing to a Honeywell RTH7400D.. Question #1- old thermostat has a blue wire to the COM post and new thermostat does not have any thing label like that. Question #2- does blue mean common like "ground"?

thanks for any help.

There is a common terminal on the Honeywell thermostat, It’s the lower right one labeled C and yes it the opposite potential like ground.
