I just replaced the thermostat for my Trane XE 1000 heat pump system and now nothing works. Called a tech to double check wire configuration and it was right. Inside blower/ outside unit/ AC/ Heat not energizing. What happened? Is there a reset on the unit outside or is there something I need to do to reset the starting circuitry? I was careful when switching thermostats but if wires touched or shorted would it mean re-wiring may be in order? (trane heat pump, rheem inside fan, honeywell thermostat) how much different does this make the wiring?

If t-stat has a common you might have shorted your wires and blown your transformer. check for voltage at t-stat
