Hello, I have a Trane XB80 thats giving me trouble. The furnace doesn't want to kick on and only the blower stays on and forces out cold air.The diagnostic error code blinks 4 times red which means Open high limit device what does this mean? I have been doing drywall and allot of drywall dust was floating around near the furnace when I was sanding,Would this effect the furnace? Last Spring this problem occured too.My installer wants $145.00 to do a service call.Is this easy to fix?My furnace is only 3 years old.Any suggestions would be appreciated. tppcamaroz

Your furnace has overheated. I can safely assume that the dust has either plugged the filter and or the A/C coil. After cleaning up the furnace try it again. Cycling the power should have reset it. If not you may need a new limit.
