I would really apreciate help concerning my new thermostat wiring. I used to have a Honeywell Q674F model and the wiring wasn't exactly the same as in the owner's manual. Here are the wire connections in the old model : 6 wires coming from the back : white on W2, green on G, red on R, Blue on X, orange on O, Yellow on Y. Plus I have a piece of wire that connects 2 screws: E to W2. I don't really know what to do with that piece of wire.
I don't know how to wire my new honeywell RTH7400D thermostat cause of that! Note that I use a heat pump plus oil auxiliary heating.

Thanks for any help

R,G,O and Y are the same. W2 is Aux and X is C.

Xenos.

thank you for that info but I still don't know what to do about the bypass from W2 to E on the old thermostat?
I've already install a RTH7400D in an other house where I had 7 wires coming from the wall and the seventh was connected on E. Now I only have 6 but the E screw is connected to the W2 screw by a wire on the old thermostat. What should I do ?

thanks

Since W2 is Aux you would jump E to Aux.

Xenos.
