My furnace sometimes has trouble igniting. Very often it takes 2-3 tries for it to light. Once a week or so it does not light on the 3rd try and then the unit shuts down completely. If I turn the thermostat to the off position and then back to heat, the unit starts up and ignites on the first try every time.
Does anyone have any ideas on what is the problem?

That model Lennox has a few problems with inducer motor and switch.. I have replace about 7 this year in the Fort Worth area.
If you haven't had your unit serviced ,cleaning it is very important,setting gas pressure,flue pressure check,filters and carbon monoxide test for safety.

I would have it cleaned and the gas pressures set up.
