I have an Amana 80 SSE GUIC 090CA50. Two times in the past week it has stopped producing heat. The blower is working but, it is pushing cool air. I went through the "re-light" instructions. turn thermo down, turn off power open cover turn off gas, wait 5 mins, turn gas back on, power on, thermo up and it resolves the problem. but this keeps happening.
Is there a gas sensor? My first thought is that something keeps shutting the gas down?
Any suggestions?
Also, any reccomendations ona programmable thermostat?
Thanks for your experience - Bryan

Make sure the main or secondary limits arent trippijg out during the heating cycle. Some limits auto reset, and relite the burners, and some "lock out". The main limit will trip if the air across the heat exchanger is not adequiet. Check filter, fan speed, duct sizing, loose fan belt. Also check temp rise. It is the difference in the return air and supply air. It usually needs to be between 40 and 70 degrees. Check your furnace nameplate for the correct temp rise. Hope this helps!!
Don't give up! A successfull repair feels soooooo good!!
