Hello!
My Day & Night unit heats fine for 15 minutes (two cycles), then shuts off inexplicably. Turning down the thermostat, then back up will restart the unit for 15 minutes. Similarly, switching the furnace power off, then on again, while the thermostat remains high, will restart the unit- for 15 minutes. Each stage seems to be fine- it heats the house well but you have to babysit the unit to keep the heat up.
Kinda sounds like a safety switch, but the ones I know of are manual, and no manual reset is necessary to restart the unit. The ignition is based on a heating element, not on an electrical spark.
Could it be related to the issue that the two ducts with dampers put out very little air, and those without dampers put out loads of air? Strangely, opening and closing the dampers seems to have little effect...
