I have a Heil 3.5 ton package unit with heat pump thats about maybe 2 years old. Can i convert it to propane heat? If so, about how much money and whats involved? Thanks

I doubt you will save much money using propane over a good heatpump. It's quite expensive compared to gas.

I am willing to pay the cost of propane to get the better heat that it delivers over the heat pump. It is probably not feasable to pay to convert it over. Just curious what it would cost to change the heat pump to propane and whats involved.

You wouldn't be converting it over you would just be replacing the indoor unit with a propane one. If it's an all electric home you could be looking at 4 to 5 grand for the job.

My unit is an outdoor package unit. Would i have to replace the whole unit or can the gas pack be converted into it? Since its not 2 years old i probably would not replace the whole unit.
