I have york P2MPD16N06401A upflow furnace. My new ignitor stays on? (I don't think it's supposed to.....lol)

Of course eventually the nearby safety switch pops and the furnace won't come on...

Any ideas.......

Could I have cracked the ceramic base of the little copper rod on the other side of the ignitor while fooling with the clip connectors; thereby loosing continuity and signal in some sort of relay/thermocouple.

PS: Thank you responders for all the information I found on the "Rollout open" issue in this furnace.

I'm going down to switch the polarity on the ignitor.....Someone please watch out for fires and blackouts in the south Denver Metro area.
