New Trane furnace I had installed on a job over the summer. The condensation pump has been working so far this winter. Now it is only pumping water about 6 ft. up the hose, not able to pump the rest of the way to the drain pipe. 10 or 11 feet up.
I took the hose down and it drains fine into a five gallon bucket. Is the pump bad? Not able to pump the distance? clogged pump, the hose is clear.
pump is a LITTLE GIANT model vcc2uls I think its rated at 15 ft shut off whatever that means.

If it's rated at 15' head then it should be able to pump a column of water to 15' high without considering any other friction forces. The other forces include pipe wall friction and any other kinds of things restricting the flow. I'd remove the pump and be sure the intake and discharge lines are clear. Check that the bearings are oiled. Then test it pumping from a bucket of clean water to the 11' drain outlet. It's hard to believe that it's lost ~33% of it's capacity but if the impeller is of cheap quality, that can happen.

Took it apart. boy is it dirty for a new furnace. I saw nothing so I'm just gonna put a new one on. I'm thinking since this was so dirty, I wonder if the homeowner swapped it out with a bad one on one of his other furnaces, he has 4.
Thanks for the reply
