I'm confused, Blue on the Thermostat is hooked to E, then on the indoor and outdoor terminals it is hooked to C. I am supposed to hook a brown wire to Indoor terminal block to C for 24 volt common, can I still do this and still be correct? I'm about to give up and just keep this old mercury Thermo.
Wiring is so: On Old Thermostat
R - red wire O - orange wire Y1 - has a yellow wire connected W1 - is bridged to Y1(no direct wire attached to terminal) E - Blue wire W2 - white wire
Than indoor Terminal Block:
Outdoor Block
I know that my NEW WIREHOOKUP: WHITE TO AUX, BLUE TO E, RED TO R, ORANGE TO O/B, GREEN TO G, YELLOW TO Y, AND BROWN TO C

if your blue wire is hooked to common on your indoor unit it need to go to c on new stat. if blue is hooked to e on tour existing stat it can't be hooked to common on your air handler, if you turned on emergency heat it would burn up the transformer or blow a fuse. check your wiring, I bet the blue wire from the stat is tied in the same place as the white at the indoor unit. Sounds like all you need to do is hook up the brown to the c for common, and you will probably have to hook up the brown to the c at the indoor unit, or depending on the brand common could be b terminal at indoor unit(GE or Trane). other than that all of your wiring you show in the pic looks correct, hope all of this helps

ok here ya go, wiring at stat as follows R=red Y=yellow W2=white - x2 on old stat O=#FFFAF0 G=green C=blue put a jumper between W2&E
at indoor unit: R=red - from stat & outdoor Y=yellow- from stat & outdoor O=#FFFAF0- from stat & outdoor G=green - no connection to outdoor unit X2= white- from stat & outdoor (notice on schematic X2-E-W3 are all jumpered together) C=blue- stat & outdoor should have all the same as above at outdoor unit except green you said in your previous post that blue was hooked to common from indoor to outdoor unit, so mot importantly is to move blue from stat to common at indoor unit
