I thought I had a problem with my Thermostat. It's a Honeywell CT3600 programable. I thought it was short cycling. I contacted Honeywell and they said it was supposed to operate on a cycle of 5 minutes on then 5 minutes off. I was told it was to operate 6 times an hour to maintain a temp differential of less than 1 degree. Thats like 12 hours a day. I find that excessive. What do you guys think? Time for another thermostat?

Thanks for your input. What do you think of the Aprilaire 8570? I was thinking of that one because it will interact with my humidifer.

Are you sure you can't set the cycles per hour to a lower value? Check the manual since most Honeywell thermostats have a range of cph settings.
