About a year ago we put in a very nice/expensive wood burning stove. It gives off a lot of heat and burns the wood down to nothing. We had it installed in a room on the first floor of a 2 story home (with a basement). The problem is, as you can probably guess, the one room gets overly hot while the rest of the house gets cold. What I'm thinking is having a large return-air vent put in that room and closing some of the other return-air vents. From some things I've read in the past, heating/cooling and the air flow needed to do it right isn't as easy as it seems. Soooo, I'm asking for opinions before I do this. Thanks Thomas

Run a duct with a damper to the return duct and as ace said run the furnace fan and let it suck that heat and put it in the house.

Thanks Ace & Hvac:
"Run a duct with a damper to the return duct and as ace said run the furnace fan and let it suck that heat and put it in the house." - that's what I'm thinking but, just curious, why the damper?
"Why dont you try running the the blower on your furnace while the wood burner is on, this may grab at least some of that "Free" heat and circulate it to outer area's of the house via the exsistingduct system." - currently I don't have any return-air ducts in that room so I'm thinking of changing the existing hot air ducts into cold air returns and then putting something on some of the other cold air returns to "force" the blower to pull air from the "wood-stove" room.
Opinions on that?
Thanks again.
