I recently installed a new programable thermostat from the RTH7000 series. Everything works properly on the A/C side. However, I had my first need for heat recently and the unit did not kick in. Thermostat reads "Heat On" but system does not start. Power to the heat system all checks out. Could I have mis-wired the thermostat? Any suggestions?

My apologies. It is a Reem 10 SEER heat pump. If it matters, it is a 3 phase system which I understand is un-common in residential settings (unclear why the former owner went that direction).

In the thermostat programming you should find sections regarding type of system and in what mode (AC or heat) to energize the changeover valve. Check you have those settings correctly programmed.
