I have a York Diamond 80 furnace that won't seem to light. It is flashing with an error code 7 times that indicates there is no flame. I tried reseting it by turning the unit off turning the power off then reversing the process. The furnace comes on, I can hear the gas come on (3 times), though no flame. After this the unit shuts off. The fan never comes on.
Any advice on troubleshooting would be appreciated. Also, JIC can someone recommend any reputable HVAC services in Northern Virginia?
Thanks in advance.

Is this a direct spark, a pilot light lit by a spark, or a hot surface ignitor type system?
Thermostat (thur me-stat') The 1st thing a HomeOwner suspects is wrong which is usually wrong thinking on their part. If in doubt jump it out.

Most likely it's the igniter. You didn't see it glow orange during startup, did you?
Usually if you look at a broken igniter you will see a small fracture in it. You can unhook the wires to the igniter and ohm it out - or plug your voltmeter into the harness leading to it and check for 120 volts during startup.

I didn't see a glow so it is most likely the ignitor. Any thoughts on where to get a replacement? Is the internet the best place? Any recommended sites?

Un-plug ignitor check for voltage there, turn on furnace and wait until furnace try to fire if you have voltage then ignitor is bad.
Most York ignitor's sre easy to replace just remember not to touch the NEW IGNITOR with your fingers as the oil in your fingers will cause it to crack.
Spiral type iginitor> York-Model#
