Hello, I am changing a Baystat 239 to a LUX TX500 (LUX 500) and would appreciate anyone's help.

The Baystat is currently wired as:

X2 - Black
O - Orange
G - taped off
Y - Yellow
T - Tan
R - Red
W - White
U - Vacant
F - Vacant
B - Blue

The LUX 500 has the following available and is referenced per the manual:

G - Fan Relay
Y - Cooling Compressor
W - Heating Control
RH - Heating Transformer
RC - Cooling Transformer

Link for LUX 500 PDF manual:
http://www.luxproducts.com/ART/support/TX500b_Eng_WebManual.pdf

What would the final configuration look like for the LUX 500?

G -
Y -
W -
RH -
RC -

Thank you greatly!

Thank you to all who make this site possible...

Your Lux stat will not work for your multistage heat pump.
I recommend the Honeywell RTH7400 or RTH7500 from Home Depot.
The RTH6300 wil not work for your heat pump.

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

Houston, many thanks for the advice! I will take a look at those two options and go from there...

I assume the wiring is straight forward for these two.?.?

C = blue (common)
G = green (fan)
Y = yellow (compressor)
O/B = orange (reversing valve)
Rc & R = red (24VAC)
Aux = white (heat strip)
E = black (heat strip)
Tape off tan (outdoor stat)

Set option 170 to 7 (multistage heatpump)
Option 190 to 0 (O/B terminal is O)

I see you posted that G was taped off, perhaps you are mistaken?

An example...

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

Houston, again you are amazing me with details...

will get back to you on G being taped off when I get back to the house in a few. I tried to be very accurate in my mapping out the 239 but I will look again.

thank you...
