looked at approx. 30yr. old day and night furnace when you turn thermostat to cool indoor fan motor hums but doesn't start,couldn't find reset button are anything else around the motor including any capacitors,any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

A cap is usually strapped to one side of the blower assembly.
Be careful as they will hold a charge for a few minutes after removing power. If the motor will spin freely with power removed replace your cap. match voltage and microfarad.

this is a 5mfd 370 volt example...

"Tip of the Day" Remember to remove power first.

thanks houston, i pulled the indoor fan motor out and didn't see a capacitor on the side of it, i know what your talkin about that usually you see a capacitor on the side but there wasn't 1 on it could it maybe be screwed to the inside of the unit,thanks
