have 4ton system,furnace,coil underneath house,and with all the duct work there it looks like a jungle under the house also i don't think any human would make it out alive also they don't want to change out the whole system,my question is could you change out the 4toncondenser for a 5ton one with out changing the coil and furnace,also would that give you any more air.thanks for all the replys

Air conditioning systems work as a team, the outside condersor along with a matched indoor coil. Replacing the existing condensor with a larger size may only add to your problems. Even prior to getting a quote for new coil and condensor, inspect your existing ductwork. Undersized ductwork will restrict airflow and create cooling and heating issues. If your A/C system works now but may not be cooling as well as you like, have an experienced HVAC Technician inspect your distribution for excessive air leaks, check the Superheat or Sub cooling of your system and make sure your air filter is clean. Make sure your existing furnace is running on the proper blower speed to get enough air over the coil.
