FOR CONVENTIONAL HEATING & AC SYSTEM
I HAVE 4 WIRES COMMING OUT OF THE WALL RED WHITE BLUE GREEN.
I DID A BAD THING AND DID NOT MARK WIRES BEFORE REMOVING OLD STAT.I HAVE INSTALLED A NEW TOTALINE #0441 THE CHOICES ON THE STAT ARE W1/O/B, Y1, G, R, C. I CONNECTED WIRES R TO R, W TO W1, G TO G, B TO C. ALL WORKS FINE EXCEPT WHEN I TURN THE AC ON THE FAN WORKS BUT THE AC COMPRESSOR DOES NOT START. I HAVE TESTED THE AC SYSTEM AND IT IS WORKING PROPERLY. I ALSO HAVE PURCHASED A HUNEYWELL RTH6300C. NOT SURE WHICH WILL BE THE BEST CHOICE.

Go look at the other end of the thermostat wire at the furnace and see what terminals they are hooked to. My guess without seeing it would be your blue wire may need to be on the Y terminal.

If in doubt call a pro !
