My trane air handler model #twe024c been giving me trouble (stopped cooling) since right before the 5 year warrnty expired. the air cond mechanic first cleaned it out and added freon. next came out 6 weeks later to replace the thermo. 6 weeks after that we called another a/c guy who replaced freon. Now 6 weeks later (approx dates) it stops cooling again and he says there is a slow leak in the coils and need to replace the coils for $700 (includes labor) or an air handler for about $1000. We are now 6 months past warranty. Will Trane work with me for the parts? Air guy says the warranty date is set in stone and they wont cover it. Need advice.

Obviously it had a leak well before the warrenty was up...............all the techs did was gas and go................you have a good case .....give em hell
